During this unusual time the trustees have continued to meet remotely, although all normal meetings have been cancelled.
The charity's audit has been delayed, and consequently so have the June newsletter and the AGM, normally set in July. We hope these events will take place later in 2020.
In the meantime the Friends have been supporting the hospital by funding and securing practical help from volunteers who are adapting headbands for nurses and making individual laundry bags for staff, and from local firms to produce items of equipment. Our Facebook page has proved valuable in publicising needs and facilitating contacts.
We normally publish newsletters twice a year. One edition comes out during June, the other either in the autumn or winter. The newsletter is posted to all members.
In our newsletters we aim to keep our members in touch with developments at the hospital and inform them of policy issues which might affect it. We also indicate how the Friends have been able to help, and explain the use of some of the medical equipment we fund.
