Cataract surgery started in February 2019 and 16 local patients are treated per session. The Friends are also paying for equipment to support pre-assessment for cataract surgery here in our hospital too.
New ultrasound equipment has been in use since early 2019, providing highest quality images [see Contributions page for photo]. Some bigger hospitals don't have such an up to date machine.
Rae's shop window once again won first prize from Wimborne in Bloom.
The GP Out-of-hours service has started in Outpatients and offers appointments [booked through your GP surgery] on evenings [5.30pm to 8pm] and at week-ends [10am to 2pm].
We normally publish newsletters twice a year. One edition comes out during June, the other either in the autumn or winter. The newsletter is posted to all members.
In our newsletters we aim to keep our members in touch with developments at the hospital and inform them of policy issues which might affect it. We also indicate how the Friends have been able to help, and explain the use of some of the medical equipment we fund.
Recent occasions in our social calendar are featured and look on the back page for a diary of future events.
