It has long been an ambition of the Friends to fund improvements in this department. Its space needs to be rationalised with greater privacy afforded to the patient. There is potential to provide greater flexibility introduced in the use of space.
Plans to deliver these enhancements have already been drawn up, but are currently on hold pending the decisions about the Minor Injuries Unit. The sequencing of the works in the building need to be dovetailed carefully and as the plans stand, the MIU works would need to be carried out before the changes to the Physiotherapy Department.
